We call on the Government to take action on Sudden Adult Death Syndrome (SADS).

SADS can go on undetected, and is something which can affect people aged between 12 & 35 years old. It can be detected by simply having an ECG test.

The Oliver King Foundation was set up following the death of Oliver King, a 12 year old boy who died in Wavertree of SADS.

We call on the Government to introduce defibrillators to all public buildings by 2017, and provide staff with the appropriate training. We also call on the Government to offer all people aged between 12 & 35 a simple ECG test, which could reduce the current death rate of 12 young people a week.

The 2012 Tennis Season is fast approaching with Aegon team tennis kicking off on the 14th of April. As usual we have a range of junior teams entered but this year we have also entered 2 senior teams. The format of these matches is 4 matches followed by 2 doubles matches. If you wish to play in these teams you need to be a member of Palmerston and also be a british tennis member with an LTA rating. If you wish to be considered for the senior teams then please contact Marc Black or Alan Dove. As usual, David Simms will be organising our junior teams.

The Liverpool League season kicks off on the 1st of May for Palmerston. We have 6 men’s teams and 2 ladies teams in the league this year and our aim is to be even more successful than we were last year. Match practice starts this Tuesday at 6pm and Sundays from 1pm. Competition for places is going to be fierce this year so make sure you get down to practice to stake your place.

If you are looking for a new tennis club then please feel free to come down to Palmerston and join in with one of our sessions. If you don’t want to play competitive tennis then we can offer you social tennis, hackers tennis and coaching.
